The perfect companion for my city apartment. Paired it with a set of Jern 11 Cast Iron speakers. Have to say I’m very surprised by how warm it sounds and how loud this little thing can be. Customer service was excellent – got it delivered in no time and was constantly kept up to date (it was Covid time so logistics were a mess).

The build quality is extremely good, really well made, will probably last for a lifetime.

Nice that Tholin Audio can now also be found on Amazon. I already purchased the PT10 directly from the manufacturer’s website before it was published here at the beginning of the year.

To date, I have published few reviews on Amazon, but here I make an exception because the product really convinced me.

I had been experimenting with cheap tube amplifiers for a long time and was usually disappointed. Most amplifiers manufactured in China are not fully vacuum tubes based, but use hidden digital amplifiers. Or there are already nasty surprises when unpacking, such as shaky volume controls or broken tubes). Also, the power output is often incorrectly declared.

The PT10 is also “made in China” – but there (just think of your smartphone) many good products come from. The product is of high quality and corresponds to what is advertised.

The device is solidly built, valuable in production, has good controls, and is limited to the essentials: Bluetooth 5.0 as well as chinch inputs. This also makes it very easy to use. If you miss bass and treble controls, you should note that this is a Class A amplifier that adapts to reproduce the music unadulterated.

After just one few hours of “burning in” (for the first time), the full sound potential is achieved, and the sound is soft and balanced. With 2×10 watts you don’t sound a disco, but it’s enough for the living room or the office without any problems.

Caution should be exercised with the temperature, because high temperatures are emitted via the tubes, so you should keep children and pets away.

Communication with Tholin Audio was quick and uncomplicated at all times; I assume that this has now become even better with the offer on Amazon. All questions can be clarified in advance, and even in German, because the company is in China, but belongs to a German.

All in all: a clear purchase recommendation for all those who are looking for a high-quality, real tube amplifier with really good sound and do not want to spend a fortune.

Schön, dass Tholin Audio nun auch auf Amazon zu finden ist. Ich habe den PT10 bereits vor seiner Veröffentlichung hier zu Anfang des Jahres direkt über die Website des Herstellers bezogen.

Bis heute habe ich wenig Rezensionen auf Amazon publiziert, doch hier mache ich eine Ausnahme, weil mich das Produkt wirklich überzeugt hat.

Ich hatte schon seit längerem mit günstigen Röhrenverstärkern experimentiert und war in der Regel enttäuscht. Die meisten in China hergestellten Verstärker sind nicht vollständig Vakuum-Röhren basiert, sondern nutzen versteckte digitale Verstärker. Oder aber es kommt schon beim Auspacken zu bösen Überraschungen, wie zum Beispiel wackelige Lautstärke-Regler oder kaputte Röhren). Auch ist die Leistungsabgabe oft falsch deklariert.

Der PT10 ist zwar auch “made in China” – aber dort kommen (denken Sie nur an ihr Smartphone) auch viele gute Produkte her. Das Produkt ist hochwertig und entspricht dem, was beworben wird.

Das Gerät ist solide gebaut, wertig in der Fertigung, hat gute Regler, und ist auf das wesentliche Beschränkt: Bluetooth 5.0 sowie Chinch-Eingänge. Das macht es auch sehr einfach in der Bedienung. Wer Bass- und Höhen-Regler vermisst, der sollte beachten, dass es sich hier um einen Klasse-A Verstärker handelt, der darauf abstimmt, die Musik unverfälscht widerzugeben.

Nach einigne Stunden “einbrennen” (erstmalig) ist das volle Klangpotential erreicht, und der Klang ist weich und ausgewogen. Mit 2×10 Watt beschallt man keine Diskothek, aber fürs Wohnzimmer oder das Büro reicht es problemlos.

Bei der Temperatur ist Vorsicht geboten, denn über die Röhren werden hohe Temperaturen abgegeben, man sollte also Kinder und Haustiere fernhalten.

Die Kommunikation mit Tholin Audio war jederzeit rasch und unkomplizert; ich nehme an, das wurde durch das Angebot auf Amazon nun och besser. Es lassen sich vorab alle Fragen klären, und das sogar auf Deutsch, denn die Firma ist zwar in China, gehört aber einem Deutschen.

In der Summe: eine klare Kaufempfehlung für alle, die einen qualitativ hochwertigen, echten Röhrenverstärker mit wirklich gutem Klang suchen und dabei kein Vermögen ausgeben wollen.

I connected the PT10 to my Bass guitar pre-amp and a pair of JBL 12″ 300W PA speakers! Can’t imagine the rumble! I’m seriously surprised that an amplifier with 2x10W could make so much noise. Be noted that the distortion in the video is actually coming from the microphone. Wear headphones when listening!
